Discover Mannheim

You can explore almost all the highlights of our city on foot. The Friedrichsplatz, one of the best preserved neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings in Germany, with its emblematic water tower, the new Kunsthalle and the congress and event centre "Rosengarten" is one of the busiest and most beautiful places in Mannheim, and at the same time the beginning of the shopping mile "Die Planken".

Go to the opera

The Nationaltheater Mannheim (NTM) is less than 200 meters away from our hotel. It is one of the largest and oldest municipal repertoire theatres in Germany. With the biennial International Schiller Days and the Mannheim Mozart Summer as well as its approximately 350,000 annual visitors, the Nationaltheater Mannheim is omnipresent as the flagship of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and reaches a broad regional and national audience.

Visit the castle

You can also reach the Mannheim Baroque Castle (now the University) on foot. With a length of almost 450 metres and a constructed area of six hectares, the extensive complex is one of the largest castles in Europe. Mannheim Palace is the second largest baroque palace complex in Europe after Versailles Palace - and has exactly one window more than the French model 😉
