Discover Mannheim

You can explore almost all the highlights of our city on foot. Friedrichsplatz, one of the best-preserved neo-baroque and art nouveau squares in Germany, with its emblematic water tower, the new art gallery and the "Rosengarten" congress and event center, is one of the liveliest and most beautiful places in Mannheim, and also the start of the shopping mile "Die Planken".

Going to the opera

The Nationaltheater Mannheim (NTM) is less than 200 meters away from our hotel. It is one of the largest and oldest municipal repertory theaters in Germany. With the biennial International Schiller Days and the Mannheim Mozart Summer, as well as around 350,000 visitors a year, the Nationaltheater Mannheim is the flagship of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and reaches a broad regional and national audience.

Visit the castle

Mannheim's baroque palace (now the university) is also within walking distance. With a length of almost 450 meters and an enclosed area of six hectares, the extensive complex is one of the largest palaces in Europe. Mannheim Palace is the second largest baroque palace complex in Europe after Versailles Palace - and has exactly one more window than its French counterpart ;-)

Go shopping

Designed as a pedestrian zone, the Planken is Mannheim's main shopping street. It is the most frequented shopping street in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and is one of the top locations in Germany in cities with a population of around 300,000.

And if you like being outdoors, even the State Museum of Labor and Technology and the Planetarium are within easy walking distance.

Go out for a delicious meal

As the center of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and a vibrant, multicultural city, Mannheim offers a wide selection of first-class restaurants to suit every taste and budget.

Whether it's delicious pizza, Italian-Mediterranean food, the best sushi, traditional German cuisine or international Michelin-starred restaurants: you can easily reach the best restaurants our city has to offer from the hotel.

Go jogging

Less than 300 meters from the hotel is Luisenpark, Mannheim's central park with an ash track and street workout facility. And just behind it you come to the Neckar, along which you can walk many kilometers undisturbed.

Enjoy nature

Even if you like to spend your free time in the countryside, it's not far away. Mannheim's Luisenpark, with its more than 3,000 trees of 130 different species and a sea of more than 200,000 flowers in spring and fall, is the ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Our house

Art Nouveau façade of the hotel

Our charming 3-star hotel is located in a listed Art Nouveau building in the center of Mannheim. It was built between 1902 and 1904 and used for the first fifty years as a residence and representative house of the Speyer brickworks. From 1953, Mrs. Mack (née Binz) began to gradually transform the house into a hotel, always ready to do everything she could to ensure her guests had a pleasant and relaxing stay in Mannheim.

In 1976, Helmut Binz, Mrs. Mack's nephew, took over the management of the hotel. He initiated an extensive renovation process that continues to this day. Since then, an elevator and air conditioning system have been installed, the staircase and Art Nouveau façade restored, the roof gables renewed and the rooms renovated several times.

All this work means that today our hotel shines in the best light. With 47 comfortable rooms, mostly renovated and equipped with air conditioning, flat screen, WLAN and modern bathrooms, as well as our special highlights, the "Tower Room" and the "Junior Suite", we offer you the room with the right ambience for every occasion.

At the beginning of 1996, I, Christian Binz, took over the management of the hotel from my father and since then I have been passionately continuing my family's tradition of pampering our guests with the best services and making them happy!

We look forward to your visit.

Your Binz family,

Christian Binz
