Discover Mannheim

You can explore almost all the highlights of our city on foot. The Friedrichsplatz, one of the best preserved neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings in Germany, with its emblematic water tower, the new Kunsthalle and the congress and event centre "Rosengarten" is one of the busiest and most beautiful places in Mannheim, and at the same time the beginning of the shopping mile "Die Planken".

Go to the opera

The Nationaltheater Mannheim (NTM) is less than 200 meters away from our hotel. It is one of the largest and oldest municipal repertoire theatres in Germany. With the biennial International Schiller Days and the Mannheim Mozart Summer as well as its approximately 350,000 annual visitors, the Nationaltheater Mannheim is omnipresent as the flagship of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and reaches a broad regional and national audience.

Visit the castle

You can also reach Mannheim's Baroque palace (now a university) on foot. With its length of almost 450 metres and an enclosed area of six hectares, the extensive complex is one of the largest castles in Europe. Mannheim Palace is the second largest Baroque palace complex in Europe after Versailles Palace - and has exactly one window more than the French model ;-)

Our house

Art Nouveau facade of the hotel

Our charming 3-star hotel is located in a listed Art Nouveau building in the centre of Mannheim. It was built between 1902 and 1904 and was used for the first fifty years as a residential and representative house for the Speyer brickworks. From 1953 Mrs. Mack (née Binz) began to gradually transform the house into a hotel, always ready to do everything to make her guests' stay in Mannheim a pleasant and relaxed one.

In 1976, Helmut Binz, nephew of Mrs Mack, took over the management of the hotel. He initiated an extensive renovation process that has continued to this day. Since then, a lift and air conditioning have been installed, the staircase and art nouveau façade have been restored, the roof gables have been renewed and the rooms have been renovated several times.

All this work makes our hotel shine in the best light today. With 47 comfortable rooms, mostly renovated and equipped with air conditioning, flat screen, Wi-Fi and modern bathrooms, as well as our special highlights, the "Tower Room" and the "Junior Suite", we offer you the room with the right ambience for every occasion.

At the beginning of 1996 I, Christian Binz, took over the management of the hotel from my father and since then I continue with great passion the tradition of my family to spoil our guests with the best services and make them happy!

We look forward to your visit.

Your family Binz,

Christian Binz
